About Democracy

What exactly is Democracy? A system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.The very word Democracy originates from the Greek word δημοκρατία "rule of the people",which was coined from δῆμος "people" and κράτος, "power" or "rule" in the 5th century BCE in Athens , to indicate a form of liberal and direct political system, in which every  free citizen was obliged to participate an vote in the city council on every matter concerning the public affairs.

Some say that this is not actually a democracy as for the fact that only the free and rich could take the above decisions and the poor was used as slaves,deprived of every political right.This is actually a matter of a grater debate as if we consider our modern term of democracy we will find some shocking resemblances to the ancient world. The declaration of Independence and the birth of the ideally democratic and liberal state,the united states, was written and founded on slavery but this should be a totally different subject.  

The thing is that we all should pause momentarily this frenetic capitalistic consumerism and realize what exactly we have sacrificed in the altar of the so called free market.What is the democracy we actually live in today?

The only aspect of the democratic system that we will actually experience is the right to vote a certain representative. Other than that,we have no real part in every what so ever decision making.And who do we vote?Our right to choose in only between the aristocracy,career politicians with multi million portfolios.Does actually somebody know how much money it's required for someone to candidate in the presidential election?And if someone outside the system is elected?The solution is very simple,he becomes part of it,he is consumed and nothing changes.

What is the problem with all this rotten political status?Capitalism is alimented, and capitalism brings huge growth and wealth ,so it's actually a good thing but not for us.It is a global scam to render every free human being into an economic slave,as the ones in ancient Greece.And the funny thing is that as then, also now the system promises you your freedom.Work hard and maybe you will be one of us, free ,rich and a decision maker.So if we all are working so hard to be like this,what are we exactly now ?

And bringing wealth to international corporations is one thing ,melting every social ,political and ethical value of modern western states is an other.

Italy,one of the pillars of European economy has no had an elected government in years.Actually there have been three different prime ministers,with their own people who took over every decision making on behave of the Italian people without ever been elected by no one.Is this democracy?

Greece has been the playground for the economic elite on how much a nation can economically suffer and the experiment is still going on, trying to find the breaking point.All Greeks chose to suffer? It actually strikes me as a democratic paradox. 

The their is the war for democracy,invading foreign countries ,killing and installing the same non-democracy only to amplify profits,which is ridiculous.

So if we really could open our eyes ,see and understand what is really happening in front of us, we would be appalled, because their is no ethical system throughout the world that could support this pseudo-moralized non democracy.We have a world wide political system that must be revisited or it will collapse on it self. 

The Hellenistic Idea

There is no doubt that the majority of the adult society hates history.That is because it is taught in an awful way in schools or because you find it just plain boring and difficult to remember.

On the other hand there is a handful of people who find history actually intriguing and interesting.

What you must understand is that history is nothing else than recorded experience.If you go back,right now and open a history book or even better watch a history documentary do not affront it with your horrible experience from your school years.When in school,your mind and your body are closely linked by the hormonal domination of growth.You have other needs and thoughts and it is perfectly normal.

So with a little more experience in life,experience of your own ,facts and memories, conclusions and own discoveries,you will easily dicover that history is a valuable shortcut in life.

What you already know by now has already been exploited for thousands of years by your ancestors.The circumstances where different but the problems were all the same.Someone else has also been heartbroken,has already discovered the joy of friends and family and much more.So when you come across a historian fact ,do not approach it with the scholar attitude.You do not have to remember the actual facts,which makes dealing with history extremely difficult but just remember the meaning.

History will teach you all the experience you want and more, based on thousands and thousands of recorded errors or right decisions which can help you with your life.

It is obvious that dealing with history requires a profound esoteric maturity  and need for knowledge and truth ,in other words philosophy.So you if you are reading this post you are in the right place.

What if we could change the world?

Maybe some people have the maturity to think and want to become philosophers.If everybody dedicated a millisecond of their precious time to think,before act we would live in an utopic world.So the majority of the population fails to use their most precious asset,their mind.People do just what they are told to.

How can we change the world?What if we could bypass the individual esoteric growth and apply directly a mass scale renaissance program?So how can we do it?

Let's start from the acknowledgement and common belief that we live in a technological advanced society but in terms of culture,values,principles,spirituality,politics,aesthetics,architecture,arts and so much more we are in constant downfall.Let's see the lingual paradigm throughout history.If the cultural growth was linear,meaning that in time we become more and more cultured,as a society, then our language,our capacity to express the meanings that we everyday discover should be enriched as time goes by.If you take a quick glimpse in history you will easily understand that this is not the case.We have become so extremely ignorant that we lack the capacity to understand what those people said.We do not understand the meaning of the words although we are taught to use some of them in everyday life.

Besides panic,what can we do?Let's go back to our faithful ally,history and see when we had the right foundations for a great civilization and what when wrong.

No this is not a history lesson!I know that you are bores with history so let us quickly guide you.Modern day, industrial revolution, renascence,middle ages, Romans and Greeks.If you have the patience to study you will find and i challenge you to do it, that the purest form of values, culture,principles,spirituality,politics and so on was only found in one place and in one time.The Hellenistic Greece.It is not by chance that the Greeks were the founders of our modern western civilization.What did the Greeks do?If you ask around you will be given a myriad of answers.They gave us democracy,drama and comedy,poetry,history,art.mathematics and astronomy,chemistry,medicine,mechanics,philosophy and the list will go on.What you must know is that the Greeks gave us a way of thinking.The very way that now days we see and interpret the everyday life and the universe.We should renounce thousands of years of evolution and go back in time to start over again?Of course not,going back is dangerous and counter productive,we must just tune and align a for centuries derailed way of thinking.
Let's go back and embrace the very principles ,the fundamental values of life that they pointed out and we have forgotten.It is imperative that we change our life style and thus our way of thinking as soon as possible.Is this the next alternative to capitalism?A civilization of values,based on a social policy of a democratic capitalistic system?
Pericles was one of the most famous politicians of ancient Athenian life.He managed through his rhetoric talent to purchase all of the rich individuals of ancient Athens to compete not in gaining more money but in investing this money of the public wellness.What rose up was a city of splendor and rich Athenians who became immortals,inscriptring their name in history for their values, honor and integrity.So people worked more and the excess of production was not stored away in some bank in Switzerland but in was invested in common good.
Can we just stop fighting over who will consume more?Can't we invest all this potential in building sane and strong cultural societies,who will compete in promoting the human heritage?Cant'we just think that it is irrational to physically die from over consuming while other humans lack the essentials?What will eventually kill you would save and other.We are just consuming animals who fight each other over bonds and spreads,economic crisis,dept and default.Out there is enough for everybody and even more.If only we could infuse a world wide education of values and principles a new way of thinking,life would be easier for everybody.

A European Destiny

Is the shinny glamour of the powerful economic union fading away?Is Europe transforming itself into a giant that's eating his own children?
It is mind blowing if you think for just a minute that all this prosperity,cooperation and peace that this continent is living is actually extremely young.For centuries Europe has been a bloodbath of internal and external power fighting to grasp control over the old continent.Europe is so important that this mindless conflict only ended roughly sixty years ago with millions of dead.What happened?
People grew tired of fighting.The answer was not domination but cooperation.People of Europe wanted to work in peace.So after another heart breaking black period in the European history we decided to change.Or did we not?
We formed a pack of mutual economic collaboration.We said let's all work together,help each other become stronger and joy the wonderful air of prosperity and peace,because we all wanted to.
But the picking and fighting and genetic hunger for domination and conquest never ended.The bad wolf only dressed himself in a different way.So who's fault is it?
We European citizens are to blame for.We do not need politicians who govern us ,guided from underground conspiracies nor political cost.We need to have in power only the best of our citizens. Technocrats if you like to call them but nevertheless people who know how to do their job.I am insulted with only the idea to pay,from my tax money an individual,to be the head of a ministry not because his is the best of the them all the the most qualified but because hi is a front man of various powers able to lie in your face and hide the truth.We need people who honestly will work for the best of their contries and for Europe.
So it's our fault that we allow certain individuals come to power.Take Germany and France for example.They had a strong political government which worked for their own country but not for the common good of Europe.Because you cannot enjoy the benefits of a strong currency such as the Euro standing all alone.Let me give you an example.
Did the governments of Germany and France knew about the recent economic crisis?Of course they did.Did the European councils had foreseen this dark period?The answer is yes
So what did they do?They sold for example expensive military equipment to a country such as Greece,which could not afford it.They knew that Greece could not afford to buy these weapons,so they encouraged the Greek politicians to borrow money and buy them anyway knowing that eventually this will wear of the economy.
So let's see the big picture.Why Greece needs to spend all of this money, roughly one third of it's income to buy jets,tanks and submarines.Because this country is at the very edge of Europe in a crossroad between Europe,Asia and Africa.Is Greece a chauvinist expanding country?Of course not.All equipment is used only as defense,not only for Greece itself but for Europe.Greece is facing at least five to ten incidents per day of violation of the Greek FIR air space and water borders.This country is constantly under the fear of invasion from their much grander and stronger Muslim country Turkey. It was in 1974 that the Turks without a warning declared war and occupied Cyprus when Greece found itself in a weak political and military position.The same thing happened again in 1995 with the occupation of the Greek island of Imia and the the state's sovereignty is challenged every day. Obviously Greece not only did not encoured military conflict but every time rushed to resolve the matter in the international courts reminding it's own rights deducted from their international treaties.

Cyprus in this day remains the only European country still under occupation.What was and still is then Achilles's Heel of Europe?Europe is a monetary and economic Union.Every state then has to oblige to certain economic rules,but the inner politics of every nation is independent.

Politics ruined everything.If we are in an economic Union that means,of course we are at free political will but our economies are linked together.You cannot have Italy,one of the world's greatest economies not only in numbers but most for the quality of the products that are exported and necessary worldwide,become a member of the Union and in ten years time face the danger of economic bankruptcy.Spain which invests huge amounts of money to expand it's economy and become more important also for the Union and face problems and competition from the Union itself.

The politicians need to understand that if their is to maintain an economic Union,every single state must rise to be as competitive as the other and work together.

Can Greece be as competitive as Germany?With the will of the European countries it could be possible.If all that money invested in armory was channeled in the expansion of the economy then there would not be crisis in the first place.If the European partners were not concerned in profiting from the weakest,only form their selves and see the bigger image of a profiting Europe that is not stealing from one another, then things would have been different.Greece has enormous amounts of gas and petrol deposits,one of Europe's biggest amounts of gold and Uranium which cannot extract because that would be a casus belli for the Turks.Greece has every right but is not allowed to use it's resources.What is the answer of Europe in that?They prefer to look in the other way. Nevertheless with their partners in crisis Spain and Italy Europe's enjoy the grandest solar exposure in Europe,a basis for the construction of a clean power industry that could power the whole of Europe .That and only that could have been sufficient to avoid the crisis.

European politics should have seen the possibility for exploit not for Greece but for the European Union and set the basis at least to protect their assets.It is irrelevant to remind you that in Libia such a decision was taken almost overnight even if it meant to overthrown the very government of the country only to protect the individual  European countries.When we come to decide as a whole,as a Union everything is difficult.

We do not need corrupted politicians who lie to you.We need qualified professionals in key positions who actually know what to do,who know when to do it without the political cost.This is the very core of Democracy.The actual benefit of the many,of the majority.You cannot have the people of Greece,Italy,Spain and Portugal but soon enough also France,Slovenia and Hungary starving.This is not Democracy,this is not the shinny glamorous future that the politicians promised.This is not the way to make money.

We do not need technical temporary governments in Greece and Italy,we need a technical and bolt European economic strategy to protect our common currency and assets.We need the peace and prosperity Europe has to offer.We must have a massive and tempestive European mobilization in uprising the European economy and protect it from the external attacks.We must end this prolongated madness and for once work together.Remember a crisis is also an opportunity.
